It was less than a month ago that actress Ishaa Koppikar spotted an abandoned
puppy -- a mix of a pomeranian and a spitz -- that was being attacked by stray
dogs in Mumbai. And although the lady herself was not able to adopt the pup
as she felt her Alsatian at home would terrorise the poor little thing, she
alerted the necessary authorities.
The pup was located and rescued after two days. "A dog is like a child,
he needs to be attended to at all times," feels Ishaa Koppikar, an avid
dog-lover. After being operated upon, the sterilised puppy is now healthy again,
and is up for adoption. "It was lucky he survived those days on the street.
He could've been run down by the traffic or would've succumbed to his illness.
It's important that when people adopt or buy a pet, they realise the responsibilities
that come with it," concludes Ishaa.
